A Bible Study For Women: Significant: Six Ordinary Women, One Extraordinary God by Rachel Risner: A Book Review

October 9, 2020 Leave a Comment

Rachel Risner speaks straight from her heart in her beautiful new Bible Study entitled Significant: Six Ordinary Women, One Extraordinary God. This six week study closely looks at the women in Jesus’ genealogy and meets everyday women in the pages of Scripture with love and grace.

Throughout her study, Rachel takes readers on a journey through snapshots of the lives of six memorable women in Scripture. Each of these women experienced the love of God despite their own failures, disappointments, and frustrations. Rachel walks the reader tenderly through their life stories and lovingly guides readers into understanding the incredible mercy and faithfulness of God.

Throughout the pages of Rachel’s study you will be intrigued by the historical information and in depth study of these six women. As each women struggled with finding significance in their own lives, God took their places of weakness and faith and allowed them to be part of a bigger story. A story of redemption and love for each one of us.

As each week highlights on a different woman in Scripture, Rachel has provided online video lessons to enhance the study. Within each day of Significant, Rachel guides the reader through personal thoughtful reflections that bring practical application. Each study is easy to read and manageable for busy women to be able to spend time in the Word.

I personally loved the Significant study because Rachel is transparent with her own weaknesses and victories. She approaches each topic with joy and tenderness. It allows you to feel as if you have found a beautiful friend who is in your corner and understands the frustrations and disappointments of being a woman who is seeking God.

Significant is a perfect series for women’s Bible study, small group study, or personal growth. The study will take you to a new level of appreciation and wonder at the way God works in the lives of ordinary women to complete His purposes.

We each have a story and He longs for us to be a part of His story. As Rachel so beautifully says “The same God that had His fingerprints on their lives, holds us in His hands.” In Him we find all the significance we need.
