God’s Got This

February 3, 2020 Leave a Comment

February is upon us with pounds of chocolate, construction paper hearts, and Hallmark cards.  As we move into this month ripe with emotion and the promise of spring ready to burst from a frozen earth, I wish to offer you a quiet whisper these hard and dark Monday mornings. A quick read, a few … [Read more...] about God’s Got This

10 Things I Have Learned This Past Decade

December 31, 2019

It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I read something on social media that reminded me we were heading into a new decade. Normally I look at the new year and think of starting over, but barely pay attention to the numbers attached to it. I am old enough to remember the hype, anxiety, and then let … [Read more...] about 10 Things I Have Learned This Past Decade

Identity and Beauty

March 18, 2019 Leave a Comment

I have been thinking a lot about identity lately. Maybe it is because my sweet boy is turning 10 this week. I keep thinking where in the world has a decade gone? I have spent a lot of years being identified as "so and so's mom". Prior to that I was identified by my connection to my husband or … [Read more...] about Identity and Beauty

    Hi, I’m Laura

I have been a busy working mom for quite some time.  I have three children and a steady career as an educator.  I understand the balance of  sleepless nights, guilt over putting my child in daycare, and trying to maintain and thrive in a career I love.  Read more…

I remember my parents and grandparents telling us I remember my parents and grandparents telling us stories about the storms they endured. This is one of ours.

The 2021 historic ice storm of Valentines weekend where we watched massive trees explode like shrapnel.

Where power was knocked out for days and roads were closed as people attempted to recover from what looked like a war zone.

Where prayers were prayed for protection and comfort each night by the light of the fireplaces, candles, and lanterns.

Where we saw Jesus show up in the kindness of humanity with chainsaws, hot coffee, and generators.

Where we cried with each other behind COVID masks and we knew that we would rise again.

The place we saw God whisper His presence and remind us that we are better together. The place we were reminded that strength comes from hard and we will endure.

This is our history and our story to tell. #family #workingmom #faithoverfear #hope #familyiseverything
