How to … [Read more...] about The Power of Gratitude: Teaching Kids Why Gratitude is Important

Faith in Midlife: Becoming Sage by Michelle Van Loon: A Book Review

September 20, 2020 Leave a Comment

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As I have grown in my faith and motherhood, I have often thought that the process of becoming more like Jesus can be a frustrating walk. Raised early on to love Jesus and church, it feels at times that we can reach a plateau in our … [Read more...] about Faith in Midlife: Becoming Sage by Michelle Van Loon: A Book Review

As I write this post, our state is dealing with unprecedented wildfires. The town I live in is on high alert and we literally could be notified to pack up and evacuate at any given minute. We are surrounded by a raging inferno. To add to this uncertainty this week I was to begin a new job at a … [Read more...] about Encouraging Words for Tired Moms

4 Tips for the Working Mom who Feels Overwhelmed

September 5, 2020 14 Comments

I sat at dinner the other night in a complete fog. All around me there was chatter and noise. My three kids and husband were busy recounting their day, asking dad about the latest device updates, and talking about the upcoming weekend plans and their own personal opinions. I was feeling completely … [Read more...] about 4 Tips for the Working Mom who Feels Overwhelmed

I remember my parents and grandparents telling us I remember my parents and grandparents telling us stories about the storms they endured. This is one of ours.

The 2021 historic ice storm of Valentines weekend where we watched massive trees explode like shrapnel.

Where power was knocked out for days and roads were closed as people attempted to recover from what looked like a war zone.

Where prayers were prayed for protection and comfort each night by the light of the fireplaces, candles, and lanterns.

Where we saw Jesus show up in the kindness of humanity with chainsaws, hot coffee, and generators.

Where we cried with each other behind COVID masks and we knew that we would rise again.

The place we saw God whisper His presence and remind us that we are better together. The place we were reminded that strength comes from hard and we will endure.

This is our history and our story to tell. #family #workingmom #faithoverfear #hope #familyiseverything
