4 Tips for the Working Mom who Feels Overwhelmed

September 5, 2020 14 Comments

I sat at dinner the other night in a complete fog. All around me there was chatter and noise. My three kids and husband were busy recounting their day, asking dad about the latest device updates, and talking about the upcoming weekend plans and their own personal opinions. I was feeling completely … [Read more...] about 4 Tips for the Working Mom who Feels Overwhelmed

She is Clothed with Strength and Dignity

My daughter is becoming your typical high school teenage sweetie. She loves all things clothes and shoes and cute. Her recent trek into this realm has come mostly with the turning of the calendar as she is headed into the last four years of "school". I have been keenly aware these past few months … [Read more...] about She is Clothed with Strength and Dignity

The Broken Road

June 1, 2020 Leave a Comment

Last summer my family headed east after a missions trip to take some much needed vacation time. My husband decided to take us through roads that was a bit off the beaten path, but were majestic and glorious. Our trek from Eastern Oregon into Idaho took us over the Wallowa Mountains. The road … [Read more...] about The Broken Road

Seeds

The early morning quiet took me by surprise. Armed with my Bible and a strong cup of coffee I was determined to enjoy the weather on my front porch. The day would be full of video teaching and zoom calls. Man, I was tired. This was taking a lot out of this mama and my patience was growing … [Read more...] about Seeds

Friendship when Life is Hard: We Need Each Other

April 27, 2020 2 Comments

Against the backdrop of a dirt yard and a shut down world, my flowering plum trees seems extra breathtaking this month. It could be that I am noticing the little things more. I am reflecting on life a little deeper, as I suspect you may be. I recently was reminded, through these simple trees … [Read more...] about Friendship when Life is Hard: We Need Each Other

I remember my parents and grandparents telling us I remember my parents and grandparents telling us stories about the storms they endured. This is one of ours.

The 2021 historic ice storm of Valentines weekend where we watched massive trees explode like shrapnel.

Where power was knocked out for days and roads were closed as people attempted to recover from what looked like a war zone.

Where prayers were prayed for protection and comfort each night by the light of the fireplaces, candles, and lanterns.

Where we saw Jesus show up in the kindness of humanity with chainsaws, hot coffee, and generators.

Where we cried with each other behind COVID masks and we knew that we would rise again.

The place we saw God whisper His presence and remind us that we are better together. The place we were reminded that strength comes from hard and we will endure.

This is our history and our story to tell. #family #workingmom #faithoverfear #hope #familyiseverything
