I have always had a magical draw toward the beautiful.
As a child you could find me spending hours sitting in the green grass outside my back door making daisy chains and dandelion wishes. Color, shape, texture, you name it…I loved it. If it grew I wanted to know how and why.
This curiosity continued as I grew and ventured out on my own. My first apartments were often surrounded with flowers on the porches and houseplants in the windows.
There was a beauty and a quietness in these simple plants as I tried to find my way and walk into adulthood. They gave me a focus and something to nurture.
Married and three kids later, those fun little flower plots have blossomed into flower beds and a garden. But I always keep a few pots on my porch to remind me where I have been and visually display the continued faithfulness of God.
If you are like me, you are in longing to find a place that brings rest and encouragement in the middle of the busy and crazy places.
Life can be beautiful, gracious, and the very fabric of what makes us who we are.
We have a calling on our lives and we want to do it well, but life can be messy and hard.
I am convinced that our experiences tell our story. Our inspiration and dreams shape us.
The lessons we learn teach us so that we may teach others.
So, allow yourself a few minutes to rest in the promises He brings and the joy that comes from knowing Him.
Because He walks beside us, we are never alone. You are loved and so very precious.
Come with me as we experience Him together!!

Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! (Psalm 61:4,ESV) The ways that God works in the unseen, is always a surprise. Sometimes we wonder if our prayers for protection and peace are strong enough and then He quietly reveals a glimpse of His grace and…
Hi Sweet Reader– I am so excited to start this new part of my blog with you! In addition to regular posts about life and love and Jesus, you will find practical and thoughtful snippets that I am sharing about gardening from my own backyard. Today we are going to make a simple summer bouquet…
I sat outside the building, my quivering hand resting on my lips. My stomach was filled with a million butterflies. My thoughts absent as I stared from a distance. Courage was not something I was feeling at this moment. I watched as complete strangers came and went from the massive building where, each week, I…
My daughter is becoming your typical high school teenage sweetie. She loves all things clothes and shoes and cute. Her recent trek into this realm has come mostly with the turning of the calendar as she is headed into the last four years of “school”. I have been keenly aware these past few months of…
There is a natural wonder not far from where I call home. The mouth of the Metolius River begins where water bubbles from a spring under the earth. In a grove of trees there is nothing and mere feet away a dribble becomes a river that meanders through parts of Central Oregon. This last week,…
I recently read and loved Peace Pirates: Conquering the Beliefs and Behaviors that Steal Your Treasure in Motherhood by Ashley Willis. This book does a beautiful job of combining Biblical teaching with practical applications for any women who finds themselves in the season of motherhood. Ashley’s writing is like a good friend sitting with you…
