How are you, today?
Are you feeling pulled in a million different directions?
Do you long for just a few minutes of quiet? A place to put up your weary feet and have your soul fed, because tired is an ever present friend?
Since you are wearing so many hats, is your list of to-do’s more pressing than the list of want-to’s?
Does the burden and busyness of life feel crushing?
Or maybe today hasn’t been too bad. Maybe everything went as planned and you were able to meet all the demands. But you are still tired and you have no idea if tomorrow will go as smoothly.
Believe me I get it. I am a wife, a mom of three, and a teacher of young children. Reality is, hiding isn’t possible–or even practical because our people need us and we have responsibilities.
If you are like me, you are in longing to find a place that brings rest and encouragement in the middle of the busy and crazy places.
We have a calling on our lives and we want to do it well, but life can be messy and hard.
Life can also be beautiful, gracious, and the very fabric of what makes us who we are.
Our experiences tell our story. Our inspiration and dreams shape us.
Let this place bring some peace and quiet for your soul. Through timely stories, quiet messages of hope, and beautiful pictures, here you will breathe in the air of refreshment that Jesus offers.
The lessons we learn teach us so that we may teach others.
So, allow yourself a few minutes to rest in the promises He brings and the joy that comes from knowing Him.
Because He walks beside us, we are never alone. You are loved and so very precious.
Come with me as we experience Him together!!

An eerie silence enveloped me. Closing the door to my car, I stood in the quiet and looked out over the fields, Usually full of laughing children and visiting parents, there was no sign of life. The wind clanged the chains as the swings made a squeak-squeak rocking invisible air. The padlock was locked fast…
Last year, about this time, I was headed back into a classroom after a Spring Break. That particular season was not one I remember with fondness. I was in the midst of grieving the unexpected loss of a dear friend. However, from that experience I have gained some perspective that I want to share with…
In January, I found an expired amaryllis bulb in a plastic cream pot on clearance for fifty cents. Being that it was past Christmas, and I was hungry for beauty of something growing in my classroom, I purchased the bulb. I figured that despite its pathetic appearance I could resurrect it. I excitedly told my…
Easter has long been my favorite holiday. I love the frilly dresses and the beautiful flowers. The hand dyed eggs that are made into deviled eggs to grace an Easter brunch or feast. The anticipation of laughing children as they look forward to gathering with cousins and friends and running through green grass looking for…
It is with joy I share this with you today. When God’s story and our story intersect, we learn about Him in ways we never can imagine! https://anchoredvoices.com/2020/03/19/a-quiet-submission/ Love you!!
